■ Configuration & working principle
The circuit has certain resistance and reactance in the circuit operation.Due to the current flowing on the circuit,there will be a certain voltage drop and power loss in the circuit in the process of transmission of electric energy.When the transmission of electric energy is larger,the current flowing on the circuit is larger.,and the loss on the conductor is greater,so that the greater the voltage drop and the lower the terminal voltage.

The voltage drop: SEFONSEFON   is the voltage loss caused by the transmission of reactive power,XL is the compensated circuit capacitive reactance,XC is the circuit inductive reactance,the larger XC is,the smaller the circuit voltage drop is,when the compensation XC>XL(that is the over compensation),the circuit voltage will not fall,but will rise,and the greater the transmission of reactive power,the greater the rise of the circuit voltage.

10kV series compensation mainly consists of series compensation capacitor,thyristor assembly,inductance,by-pass switch,sampling voltage transformer,current transformer and controller(it is not shown in the diagram)etc.
 
When the system is short circuited on the condition that the series compensation capacitor is put into operation,the voltage at both ends of the capacitor will rise rapidly with the rise of the current.The controller controls the conduction of the thyristor assembly by the change of the sampling electrode and the current signal,the compensation capacitor discharges through the inductor and the thyristor,and the discharge current is limited to the allowable range by the inductor,and then the by-pass switch is closed to compensate capacitor short circuit protection.The controller continuously checks the fault status of the circuit,the controller delays for a certain time to put the device into operation automatically after the fault is eliminated.The fast conduction of thyristor can reduce the cost of equipment,also can effectively control the volume of equipment,and can realize multi-point compensation in the circuit.

● It can be adjusted"self-adaption"according to the circuit load change.The problem of"weak output"of parallel compensation device under low voltage is avoided.
 
● It improves the power factor of the circuit,reduces the loss and improves the transmission power of the circuit when solving the low voltage problem.
 
● It can effectively reduce or even cancel the voltage flicker caused by the starting of inductive load of motor on the circuit,and improve the voltage quality.
